20 Ways to Include Pantone’s Colors of the Year into Your Beauty Routine

It seems like 2016 will be the year of pastel. Pantone decided to break tradition this year by selecting two Colors of the Year – dreamy ‘Serenity’ (a tranquil blue) and delicate ‘Rose Quartz’ (a soft pink). The two colors – which are very reminiscent of cotton candy, no? – are a match made in beauty heaven. From eye makeup to nails to hair, there are plenty of ways to include Rose Quartz and Serenity into your beauty routine…keep scrolling to get inspired!

EYES

EVE LINECZKA

Eyes are arguably the most wearable way to add the Pantone colors to your routine. For this look, Eve Lineczka swept baby pink shadow all over her lid, smudged some light blue shadow on her lower lash line and finished it off with a bold wing. Get the look with MAC’s Yogurt and bareMinerals’ READY Eyeshadow in The Vision. (Photo via @Eve_Lineczka)

DRESSED IN MINT

Pop some light blue shadow onto your lid, and apply a dusting of pink in your crease on your brow bone for a smoky take on the trend. (Photo via Dressed in Mint)

BUZZFEED

You don’t have to be a makeup master to add the colors to your routine. Sweep pastel pink shadow on your lid (try LORAC’s Soft Pink) and add a pigmented, light blue liner to your waterline. The Stila Smudge Stick in Periwinkle is a beautiful choice. (Photo via BuzzFeed)

KATIE NOVA

For this look, Katie Nova used all Anastasia products: the shadows Pink Champagne and Dusty Rose, plus the Waterproof Creme Color in Ice Blue for the wing. (Photo via @KatieNovaMakeup)

For an evening eye, look for sparkly or glitter shadows to add some extra dimension, then top it off with a sleek wing. Try NYX’s Roll On Shimmers in Light Blue and Mauve Pink. So affordable and easy to use – you can literally finish your look in under a minute. These shimmers are so underrated. (Photo via @Eve_Lineczka)

FULL FACE

BH Cosmetics

Obsessed with this look. It’s all about the eyes with that striking blue liner – to get the look, use Stila Liquid Liner in Periwinkle. For the lips, keep it simple with a bit of pink gloss. (Photo via BH Cosmetics)

BURN THAT DRESS

Another area you can add one of the Pantone shades? On your cheeks! Go with a soft, dusty pink blush, like Benefit’s Dandelion.(Photo via Burn That Dress)

MARIA CABIDE

The smudged out lower lash line adds a little edge to this otherwise demure look. Everyone should have a smudge brush in their collection – ELF offers one for only a dollar! (Photo via Maria Cabide)

DAILY MAKEOVER

Here’s a zoomed in look at the makeup of the recent star of Cinderella, Lily James…and these two colors truly do have a Cindrella-like, princess vibe. So soft, delicate and romantic – it’s something out of a fairytale. (Photo via Daily Makeover)

ELLE

Leave it to Taylor Swift to jump on the trend over a year ago! Such an elegant spin on the Pantone colors. Obsessed with her icy blue eye makeup. To emulate the look, try Laura Mercier’s Caviar Stick in Mint Snow. (Photo via ELLE)

HAIR

RANDOM ACTS OF PASTEL

The first thing that came to mind when I saw the new Pantone picks was how exciting this is for pastel hair lovers! These two colors are so romantic and pretty. You can add a streak or two to your hair, or go full-My-Little-Pony with a pink-and-blue ‘do like the one above. (Photo via Random Acts of Pastel)

WE HEART IT

This is ‘cool girl’ hair at its finest. From the short, choppy lob (the hottest cut of the fall) to the almost subtle pink streaks, this style is just gorgeous (Photo via We Heart It)

STYLE CASTER

Anyone willing to place a bet that we’ll see Kylie Jenner rocking this color within the month? Blue hair is definitely for the bold, but going pastel is a softer and, dare I say, wearable take on the trend. (Photo via Style Caster)

SPEAKING OF KYLIE JENNER, CHECK OUT HOW TO GET LIPS LIKE HERS (MINUS THE FILLERS), HERE!

GLAM RADAR

Pink hair is so girly and pretty – this entire pink-on-pink look is on point. Would you ever take the plunge try pink hair yourself? Test out the look with Manic Panic in Cotton Candy Pink. (Photo via Glam Radar)

WE HEART IT 2

This daring, braided style is as bold as can be, and I love it! It’s irresistible – the big, long braids, the combo of blue and pink, that little hint of blue at the ends. Adorable. (Photo via We Heart It)

NAILS

CUDED 1

Ombre or gradient nails are a cute way to jump on the Rose Quartz/Serenity bandwagon. To do this at home, all you need is two polishes and a sponge – discover how with this tutorial. (Photo via Cuded)

CUDED 2

Obsessed with this geometric design. The metallic accents take the look to the next level – save this idea for New Year’s! (Photo via Cuded)

GRAPE FIZZ NAILS

Keep it fresh and simple with an accent nail. This is my favorite way to do nail art – it’s cheeky and fun, but not over the top. (Photo via Grape Fizz Nails)

SO NAILICIOUS

Use Essie’s Pink About It and Rock the Boat (or any baby pinks and blues you have) for this classic look. This would be such a cute nail art idea for a baby shower! (Photo via So Nailicious)

DIVINE CAROLINE

I adore this design by Divine Caroline. Paint the blue lines on different spots of your nails – some higher, some lower – to make the look funkier. (Photo via Divine Caroline)
