Redheads have the unique dilemma of having to match their hair to their outfits. With such a vibrant hair color, you run the risk of clashing with your clothing, but you can also create electric, fun color combos. This spring there are a bunch of exciting fashion trends that are perfect for gingies… here are some of our favorites.
Black and White: This classic color combo was all over the runway this year. Be it Marc Jacobs or Alexander Wang, designers were going crazy for the elegant combination. Simple and timeless, it’s the perfect contrast to an exciting pop of red.
Emerald Green: Pantone’s Color of the Year is lively emerald. The bright green is not only perfect for spring, but it brings out the best in redheads. It complements your complexion and brings out the vibrancy of your hair.
Mad Men: It’s no secret that part of the bombshell appeal of Christina Hendricks’ Mad Men character is her fiery red locks. Emulate her sexy style with conservative dresses that are form-fitting and flattering. Retro is still in, and it looks even more glamorous on crimson-headed girls.
Lavender: There’s something so feminine about the striking combination of lavender clothing and red hair. It makes for a beautiful, unexpected look. Any shade of purple actually looks great on redheaded girls, but a lighter shade is more appropriate for springtime.
Neutrals: Yes. Neutrals. Redheads have been taught from an early age that any shade of peach or beige will wash them out, but with some proper styling, that is not the case at all. With enough confidence, a redhead can pull off just about any color. Rock a beige dress, pair it with some gold accessories and a bright pair of heels for a pop of color, and you have a gorgeous, warm weather outfit! Emma Stone wears peach all the time and looks incredible.
