MY BEAUTY ADVENTURE

I was never a colored lipstick person, a trait I may have taken from my mom as we both have a preference for clean, sheer lip gloss. As a little girl, after my mom cooked fried food, I would sneak into the kitchen and dip my finger into the pan of cooled down oil and spread it over my lips to make them shiny. I eventually graduated from grease to store bought lip gloss and was always on the search for that perfect nude shade that would provide the natural look, but also hydrate my lips.I found it unexpectedly many years later, while traveling with my older son to Europe. He was still an infant and I was taking him on a trip overseas to visit my in-laws without my husband. I was very worried about the amount of carry-on luggage I could handle because I was alone, and had a connecting flight, so I decided to put my toiletries in my suitcase and check it in. When I arrived in Germany, my luggage didn’t arrive. I was desperate to freshen up and sans any products. The only item I had on-hand was my baby’s diaper bag and my other idea was to run to the corner supermarket with the hope that they may have a product I could use. I reached into the diaper bag and the first thing I grabbed was an Aquaphor tube, normally used for my baby’s bum. I applied it on my lips. It worked wonders! My lips were not only hydrated and soft, but also had that subtle glossy look that I always longed for. Then I remembered, when my son was born he had very sensitive eyes, like me, and his pediatrician suggested to wash his eyes with some gentle baby shampoo. I decided to give it a go and tried my son’s Johnson Baby for my bloodshot jet-lagged eyes, and it worked! I have never looked back since! My son’s diaper bag has become my most effective and convenient beauty source, from lip treatment to eye care and even sunscreen. I alternate Johnson’s Baby with another great German baby shampoo called Bübchen as a gentle alternative to make-up remover to clean and moisturize my eyes. And who doesn’t love the delicious smell of Coppertone® Water Babies® spray-on lotions? The highlight of my year was when Aquaphor became available in small tubes to carry around in my purse… it tells me that they must have created it for everyone, who like me, discovered the secret for moist glossy lips; thanks to their little ones of course!I am so excited for the launch of Pampadour, I can’t wait to discover more beauty eccentricities from my friends and professionals.
