Can you believe Thanksgiving (or the once-in-a-lifetime Thanksgivukkah, for some) is already here?! The holidays are a time to indulge in delicious food and drinks, and enjoy being with your family and friends. Even the most hardcore dieter doesn’t want to count calories at this time. The good news is you don’t have to.

The key to maintaining weight is the good ol’ fashioned trick of portion control. Keep the image above in mind during your feast… fill up half your plate with good-for-you veggies, a quarter with protein (hello, turkey!) and the last quarter with oh-so-delicious carbs (mashed potatoes, yams, corn).

Following this guideline will ensure your stomach is happy, and so is your waistline. And, remember, it’s the holidays – if you really want that slice of pumpkin pie, go for it. YOLO!
