I was thrilled to receive Soap & Glory’s Sexy Mother Pucker Pillow Plump Gloss in the new color Nude In Town. Soap & Glory is one of my absolute favorite brands. Their bath and body products, like the award-winning shea-butter-and-aloe-infused The Righteous Body Butter, are unparalleled in quality and their packaging is irresistible. Read on for my thoughts on their newest addition, plus check out some swatches!
A classic, universally flattering nude, Nude In Town is perfect for either day and night. It’s not as opaque as I usually like my glosses to be, so I would definitely pair it with a nude or light pink lipstick underneath. The name is incredibly accurate – this plumper really works! About 30 seconds after application, you will feel some slight tingling. Tingling is something you either love or hate about lip products, but at least it means it’s working! Your lips will almost instantly feel fuller, plump and supple. On top of all of this, the gloss has an intoxicatingly sweet smell that I couldn’t get enough of. That was what really set the product apart for me – I’m a sucker for sweet-smelling beauty. The gloss lasted quite a long time for me. I usually find myself reapplying gloss constantly, but it remained intact for a solid two hours before I touched it up.
In a 28-day test, 91% of Pillow Plump users said their lips had a more defined shape and 89% said their lips felt plumper. 86% said lips felt moisturized, and I definitely agree. It’s rare to find a gloss that hydrates lips so well. Additionally, it wasn’t sticky! Don’t worry about flyaway hairs getting stuck on your lips – a major beauty pet peeve of mine.
The gloss is currently available on Sephora in the colors Coy Toy and Pinkwell. Nude In Town will be available for purchase later this month, retailing for $24.
Overall, I’m extremely happy with this product. Hydrates lips, gives off a beautiful sheer color, smells delicious and actually plumps!! If you’re into lip plumpers, definitely give it a try.
